Why Run...

The people in Windsor Heights elected me to the City Council four years ago and I

am grateful for the opportunity to serve. Thank you! Now it's time for a reelection
effort to finish some of the things we've started.
I sit on the Economic Development Committee, the Public Works Committee and the Communications Committee. What have we accomplished?
We continue to encourage new businesses to locate in Windsor Heights and recently The Windsor a 205 unit apartment complex opened in June.
We have purchased new equipment including a backhoe for our public works department as well as equipment to repair our streets in a safe and effective manner.
We communicate with city residents through our monthly newsletter that is mailed to each household and this spring started a new podcast, The Village Voice the official podcast of the City of Windsor Heights.
In addition some of the things I've helped launch in our community:
The first improvements to Colby Park in years has so many people from the Metro coming to our community to enjoy this jewel.
I started a recycling program for used florescent light bulbs to save residents and businesses the fee usually associated with returning them to a business location. That effort has grown now to include batteries and other electrical gear. Just bring them to City Hall for disposal.
I sit on the ICON Water Trails Board and Windsor Heights has just approved a water access point to Walnut Creek which will be located in Colby Park.
I resurrected the New Resident Packets and delivered them to new residents of our city in 2024.
We started a City of Windsor Heights podcast this past spring. (You should check it out!)
Why run? There are so many more opportunities for our community and I am proud of what we have accomplished and what is yet to be done. So, thank you in advance and I ask for your support and your vote in November. And, if you want to chip in and help that way shoot me a check: Michael Libbie, 2009 80th Street, Windsor Heights, Iowa 50324.
